1. Introduction
At Atropos, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. We operate on a "local-first" principle: the vast majority of your data lives on your device, not our servers.
2. Data We Store (Server-Side)
We only store the minimum data required to manage your license and subscription. This is the only data stored on Atropos servers:
- Account & Billing: Your email address and VIP status.
- Subscription Status: Details about your plan (e.g., status, renewal date, subscription ID) synced from our payment provider.
- Trial Usage: Counters for trial runs (e.g., total runs, remaining runs) to enforce trial limits.
- Device Authentication: Limited device-related data required to validate access and prevent unauthorized use. Exact authentication methods are not publicly disclosed for security reasons.
3. Data Stored on Your Device (Local)
All other data generated or used by Atropos remains strictly on your computer. We do not upload, store, or have access to:
- Media Files: Your raw videos, generated clips, and project files remain on your hard drive.
- Platform Credentials: OAuth tokens, session cookies, and passwords for connected accounts (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, ect.) are stored securely on your device.
- Application Settings: Your preferences, configurations, and user interface settings.
4. How We Collect Data
We collect data in the following ways:
- Directly from You: When you enter your email address to activate the app.
- From Third Parties: We receive subscription status updates (e.g., "active", "canceled") from Stripe to verify your access.
- Locally Generated: Your device generates a local identifier used to associate your license with your device. The specific security mechanisms used to protect this process are intentionally not disclosed.
5. Why We Process Data
We process your server-side data for specific, legitimate purposes:
- License Management: To verify your subscription status and enforce trial limits.
- Communications: To send you critical emails about your account or support inquiries.
- Security: To protect accounts, prevent unauthorized use, and maintain the integrity of our licensing system.
6. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party providers for specific infrastructure needs:
- Stripe: Processes payments. We do not store your credit card information; it is handled entirely by Stripe.
- Cloudflare: Provides network security and content delivery.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: You can request a copy of the specific license record we hold for you.
- Deletion: You can request the deletion of your account record, which will terminate your access to the service.
- Correction: You can ask us to fix inaccurate billing email addresses.
